Had a chance to check out the fOLDED Inc fam down at the San Jose Made pop shop event in downtown San Jose. What I like about their gear is that they sway away the Filipino flag and stars and actually have some meaning around their shirts. They also started a street line, which has some real clean designs to rock this spring. Peep them out and tell em KVN sent you.
My Pickups..don't worry about the wrinkles on the Biggie tee. I had to rock that right away!
Afterwards I stopped by Cukui for the first time with David after SJ made. I'm actually feeling their designs and color schemes. Their store is a bit small, but the person there was cool an made us feel welcomed. Might have to stop by an pick up a couple more shirts, but just ended up with 1.

Adventures with Tommy part 1
Had the day off, so decided to babysit my nephew. He loves getting his picture taken, so we went for a walk over to the overpass for him to check out the cars from above and take pictures. He's like a model. He has his go to "super cheesy smile" and his, "peace out" pose haha. I'll update more of our adventures later today.
Not to much of a height difference right?

He who does not know how to look back at where he came from will never get to his destination- Jose Rizal
Last week I made it down to visit my grandparents at the convalescent home. They've been at this center for a couple of months now, and haven't really had the strength to visit them. I actually did some volunteer work at this center a year ago, so I know how the empty and lonely it is to be there. This should have pushed me even more to visit them, but I've never seen my grandparents like this before. I grew up with my grandfather, while my grandmother helped raised my other cousins. I never thought it was weird when I was younger, but now that I'm older, I can't how they stayed separated so long, just to raise me and my cousins.
I know my grandfather to be warrior like and a Mr. Tough guy. He was also a great carpenter and always thought of him like Macguyver. LOL he would take some wire fencing and create some crab traps!
He kept me in check while growing up, and we worked together a lot at my fathers apartments. So to see someone who I thought was invincible, now getting older and at a center, tears me up. But thanks to my wife's support, we made a visit and brought them some fresh lumpia and mamon (sponge cake). We brought the ipad as well and showed them our pictures from our wedding, talked a little bit, laughed, then we left. I plan to visit them more often and I'm even trying to get my students out there to help brighten up the center.

Volunteer and help your community
Last week I took one of the schools I manage out to Sacred Heart community center. It was a gloomy day, started to rain a lot, and on top of that, I had a migraine. I wasn't really feeling the field trip, but had to man up and make sure the students experience helping others. When we got there, we jumped right into sorting the clothing that has been donated, arranging the items and organizing them on the racks, as well as helping their clients (low income families as well as some homeless people). After meeting some of their clients, my migraine went away, and it felt really good that I was there helping out Sacred Heart. Volunteering cured my migraine! I've been here numerous times, and my students always love coming out here to volunteer. I believe I have the best job ever!

Bargain Kix
Love ebay...Maybe way to much. These are my favorite model Lebrons, and comes in the Christ The King colorways. It needed to be cleaned up a bit, but turned out well. Not bad for less then $50 shipped, for a rare shoe.
Next up is a pair of Lebron Soldiers, in the Christ the King colorway, that I picked up from the Nike Clearance store for $46, but through in my giftcard and got it for $6 an some change!

Futura x Paris x Mache x KVN
Back around 1999-2000, I used to customize Air Force 1s, Jordans, and dunks. I guess you can say I was one of the earlier pioneers (online) to do this. I'll talk about the past in a later post, but I wanted to show these dope shoes I got customized by Mache of ISS around 2008. I don't know if he still does customs, but he was really good at doing the Futura characters.
I had him combine the colorway of the Paris Dunk lows, with the Futura characters from the Dunkles dunk lows, and came up with this design on a pair of Air Force 1's.
